What's New in the Blackbox Dashboard: Our Biggest Update Yet
Published [11/06/26] · 5 min read
If you've logged into the Blackbox Dashboard recently, you'll have noticed things look a little different. We've just rolled out the most significant update to the platform since launch, and it's live in every account right now.
Here's a full breakdown of everything that's new.

See More on the Map
Geo-referenced galleries
Every image captured by your Blackbox cameras is now plotted directly on your project map. That means you can see not just what was captured, but exactly where it was captured — down to the precise camera location on site.
For projects with multiple cameras across a large site, this changes how you navigate your footage. Instead of scrolling through galleries camera by camera, you can move around the map and pull up images from any location at a glance.
Deep links
Sharing a specific image or map location used to mean sending someone to the Dashboard and hoping they could find what you were looking at. Not anymore.
Deep links let you generate a direct link to any gallery image or map location. Send it to a colleague, a client, or a subcontractor and they'll land on exactly the same view — no searching, no confusion.
Track Progress Over Time
Milestones
You can now flag major project milestones directly in the Dashboard — things like slab pours, structural completions, or handover dates. Once flagged, milestones appear on your project timeline so you always have a clear record of when key moments happened and how the project progressed around them.
Timeline playback
Scrub through your entire project history with the new timeline playback feature. Whether you're preparing for a client review, investigating an incident, or just want a quick visual recap of how far a project has come, you can now move through time directly from the Dashboard.
Elapsed time indicators
How recent is your latest image? The new elapsed time indicators give you an at-a-glance answer without having to dig into timestamps. Useful for quickly confirming your cameras are active and capturing as expected.
Historic weather tracking
Wind speed, rainfall, and temperature are now tracked and displayed across your full project timeline. This is particularly valuable for construction teams managing weather-sensitive work — you can correlate site progress with weather conditions, support weather delay claims, and give clients full environmental context alongside the visual record.
Monitor Faster
Faster live streams
We've significantly improved the load time for live streams. Your feeds now come up faster so you spend less time waiting and more time watching.
Multi-camera views
You can now preview multiple cameras at once from a single view. For project managers and site supervisors monitoring large or complex sites, this means a complete picture of your site in seconds — without switching between individual camera feeds.
Report and Share
Reporting tools
Generate professional project and camera reports directly from the Dashboard. Reports include before-and-after images, weather data, and custom notes — everything you need to brief a client, document progress, or support a claim. No more pulling information from multiple sources.
Compare tool
The Compare tool lets you place any two points in time side by side — a before-and-after view of your project at any stage. Once you've set your comparison, you can export it directly as a GIF. It's a simple but powerful way to communicate progress to clients and stakeholders.
Rapid Review (Studio subscription required)
For Studio subscribers, Rapid Review lets you generate a timelapse video directly from your gallery — no editing software, no manual compilation. Select your timeframe, hit generate, and you'll have a shareable timelapse in minutes.
Everything, in One Place
These updates are built around a simple idea: the more visibility you have over your project — where things happened, when they happened, and what the conditions were — the better decisions you can make.
Whether you're managing a single site or a portfolio of projects across multiple states, the Blackbox Dashboard is designed to give you that visibility without the complexity.
All of these features are live in your account now. Log in to explore them, or get in touch with our team if you'd like a walkthrough.
