The Port Rail Transformation Project is the cornerstone of the Port of Melbourne's push to move more containers by rail and take trucks off inner-western Melbourne roads. Delivered by Seymour Whyte, the project built a new rail terminal interfacing with the Swanson Dock East International Container Terminal, including two new sidings capable of handling 600-metre-long trains, plus the new Intermodal Way road connection.
