Indooroopilly Riverwalk
Brisbane City Council
The Indooroopilly Riverwalk is a 790-metre elevated pedestrian and cycle structure over the Brisbane River, delivered by the Georgiou and Brady Marine & Civil joint venture for Brisbane City Council and completed in June 2021. With separated lanes, viewing platforms overlooking the iconic Walter Taylor Bridge and connections to the Jack Pesch Bridge and Indooroopilly Station, the project won the CCF QLD Earth Awards top prize in 2022.
Time-lapse Coverage
Blackbox documented the over-water construction from start to finish, capturing piling, deck installation and finishing works above a tidal, flood-prone reach of the Brisbane River. The elevated riverbank setting made for challenging camera positions and spectacular footage in equal measure, and the final record does justice to an award-winning piece of active transport infrastructure.
