Built during the Great Depression beneath the Story Bridge, the Howard Smith Wharves sat largely dormant for decades before being transformed into one of Brisbane's premier riverside dining, events and lifestyle precincts. The Brisbane City Council-driven redevelopment revitalised the heritage wharf buildings and cliffside parklands while adding new hospitality venues and a boutique hotel.

Time-lapse Coverage

Blackbox captured the rebirth of this iconic stretch of the Brisbane River through time-lapse, documenting works squeezed between the cliff face, the river and the Story Bridge overhead. The coverage traces the precinct's journey from forgotten wharves to one of the city's most visited destinations.
